Drone Training

The Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (IGRUA), an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, stands as one of India's premier Flight Training Organizations. Over the past 36 years, IGRUA has established itself as a leader in the aviation sector, consistently producing world-class Commercial Pilots. Renowned for its high standards and rigorous training programs, the academy has earned a reputation as a trusted and prestigious institution within the industry.

In its continued efforts to stay at the forefront of aviation training, IGRUA expanded its offerings to include drone training, a rapidly growing area in modern aviation. In February 2021, IGRUA commenced DGCA-certified drone training at India’s first and exclusive Drone Flying Site, located in Gurugram. This initiative was launched in collaboration with M/s Drone Destination Private Limited, a leading company in the field of drone technology and training.

By integrating drone training into its curriculum, IGRUA is ensuring that it remains at the cutting edge of aviation education, preparing its students for the future of the industry. This new venture not only enhances IGRUA's comprehensive training capabilities but also contributes to the growth and development of drone operations in India.

Eligibility Requirements for Remote Pilot Certificate Training:

  • Must have completed at least Class 10th from a recognized Board.
  • Minimum age requirement is 18 years.
  • Possession of an Aadhar Card is compulsory.
  • A secondary form of identification (such as a Voter ID, Ration Card, Driver's License, or Passport) is required.
  • A valid Medical Certificate of Fitness must be provided.
The government-approved training centers for drone operations are located in Gurugram, Bangalore, Gwalior, Kangra, Coimbatore, Madurai, and Bhopal. These centers offer a comprehensive 5-day course designed to provide participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to become certified drone pilots. The program, widely recognized and authorized by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), offers certification for operating both Micro and Small Category Drones. Through this training, participants receive hands-on experience and expertise, ensuring they are well-prepared for professional drone operations across various sectors.
